Ametek Hunter Spring grounding/earthing reels are widely used for aircraft fuelling, the loading and unloading of tanker trucks, storage tank filling, and for various applications around chemical and fuel refineries. Using steel components and a cantilever-type frame, they are very ruggedly designed and built to withstand the harshest work environments. Their open-style design seals all the mechanical parts in an internal, gasketed chamber. This design prevents dirt and moisture on the cable from tracking back to the spring and other mechanical parts inside. An automatic latching mechanism holds the cable at any length you require. A gentle pull on the cable releases the latching mechanism, and initiates cable retraction. A repositionable ball and cable stop keeps the cable end within easy reach. The bottom side of the mounting brackets of the reels in this series are unpainted, so that you can mount them to a grounded surface, or to a surface that has permanent electrical conductivity with the item that you want to ground.
