For those areas when you need to go a long distance (>20') to get from the equipment you are grounding to the known ground point, you should consider using a static grounding reel instead of a custom long assembly. Static grounding reels are compact, convenient and improve safety by removing trip hazards.
They are most often used while mounted to a truck, railcar, or on the unloading area at a facility where you need that extra length because of uncertainty of where the application will be performed.
We have several different kinds of reels depending on your application. Read on and then buy at the bottom of the page.
The ML2930 Series are very ruggedly constructed to withstand the toughest environments. Their open-style design seals all the mechanical paths in an internal, gasket chamber. This prevents dirt and moisture on the cable from reaching the mechanical parts inside.
A latching mechanism holds the cable at any desired length. A slight pull on the cable releases the mechanism causing retraction. These self-braking units will automatically slow the retraction speed of the cables to prevent accidents from a fast moving clamps. The standard models include the LE21C alligator clamp.
Our heavy-duty static grounding reels offer steel components and a cantilever-type frame, which supports the reel assembly, and are designed to function under themes adverse conditions. Maintenance and repairs are made possible by bolt-together construction.
The Lind Equipment heavy-duty reels offer a robust, gasket design in a lower cost, riveted construction. Priced very reasonably, providing a viable alternative to manual rewind reels, yet offering the benefit of automatic self-retraction of the cable. Clamps should be walked back to the reel during retraction.
These ruggedly constructed reels are an economical alternative to automatic retreating reels. In addition to lower initial cost, there are fewer parts to maintain, allowing for years of trouble-free service. ML2930 series hand-wind also offer highly compact storage of a wide range of cable lengths up to 150'.
Smaller, more economical closed reels. Recommended for indoor-use only as closed reels may get clogged with dirt and debris if used outdoors. Now available in stainless steel versions (200-20RST / 700-50RST) for clean applications such as pharmaceuticals.
